In Vedic Mathematics, there are several divisibility test for different numbers. I am going to explain one of the very simple and correct trick (method) of division by 9. You only require to have knowledge of addition and you will get your Remainder and Quotient. So, Lets start. Example 1: So, start with easier two digit example. Divide 34 with 9

The word Digit means the single figure numbers; the numbers from 1 to 9 and zero Digital Root or Digital Sum of a number : is the remainder when the number is divided by 9. So for 31, the remainder is 4 because 31/ 9 = 3 remainder 4. The digital root is also 4. The digital root can also be obtained by summing the digits of the number.
