Speed And Correct Division by 9 (Nine)

Image
In Vedic Mathematics, there are several divisibility test for different numbers. I am going to explain one of the very simple and correct trick (method) of division by 9. You only require to have knowledge of addition and you will get your Remainder and Quotient. So, Lets start. Example 1: So, start with easier two digit example. Divide 34 with 9

Digital roots or Digital Sum of Numbers

The word Digit means the single figure numbers; the numbers from 1 to 9 and zero Digital Root or Digital Sum of a number : is the remainder when the number is divided by 9. So for 31, the remainder is 4 because 31/ 9 = 3 remainder 4. The digital root is also 4. The digital root can also be obtained by summing the digits of the number.

Multiply 11 to 19 In Your Head

Image
In this vedic trick you would learn to quickly multiply numbers between 11 and 19 in your head. With this trick, you will be able to multiply any two numbers from 11 to 19 in your head quickly, without the use of a calculator.

Current Events 2010

Friends, You might be thinking that on maths blog where from Current Affairs come. I posted these because SBI is going to recruit 22,000 more clerks at various branches, ' Current Affairs and General Awareness ' is main part of their syllabus. It is also helpful for other exams also. So, here are some Current Affairs .

How to Multiply with base of 1000 – Vedic Multiplication – Lesson Four

What we have done so for? Multiply with base of 100 , Multiply with base of 10 . Now, we learn how to multiply with base of 1000.

How to Multiply with base of 100 – Vedic Multiplication - Lesson Three

In the last lesson of Vedic Multiplication Methods , I mean here that in my last post I have explained the step-by-step procedure of Vedic Multiplication Methods . If you not read that post, you can read here to understand full concept of this fast calculation methods . In this post, I will demonstrate How to multiply with base of hundred within 15 secs? As I already explained the concept of Vedic Multiplication in my previous post. Now, I will show the examples with little description. But you will be able to understand. So, Lets start with the first example: How to Multiply with Base of 100 Example 1. Multiply 78 by 96 Step 1. Well, here base is hundred, Put the two numbers 78 and 96 above and below on the left-hand side. Step 2. For the right-hand-side , find out Deviation of both numbers. That is, 78-100 = -22 and 96-100 = –04 , Write Numbers as shown below: Step 3. Now, for the right-hand-side of answer multiply the deviations 22 and 04, you will get 88, that is right

Vedic Multiplication Methods – Lesson Two

Note: This article is related to previous article . If you understand those terms then continue to this article. However, you can continue with this article. But, if you wish to learn from start then, click here . This method is called, Nikhilam Sutra . Let us first take up a very easy and simple illustrative example ( i.e. the multiplication of single-digit numbers above 5 ) and see how this can be done without previous knowledge of the higher multiplications of the multiplication-tables . Just now, we state and explain the actual procedure, step by step. Multiplication using a base of 10. Example 1. Multiply 9 by 8 Consider the base number as 10 since it is near to both the numbers. Step 1. Put the two numbers 9 and 8 above and below on the left-hand side. Step 2. Subtract each of them from the base (10) and write down the remainders (1 and 2) on the right-hand side with a connecting minus sign (-) between them, to sho

Vedic Multiplication Methods – Lesson One

Before we start, Let us, understand the following two terms carefully, these will help you to find multiplication in faster and easy way. Deviation : The difference between the number and the base is termed as deviation . Deviation may be positive or negative . Positive deviation is written without the positive sign and the negative deviation , is written using a bar or negative sign on the number. Base : Using this multiplication techniques, we relate each number very close to another number called base . See the following table to understand these terms. Number Base Deviation 18 10 18-10=8 8 10 8-10=-2 95 100 95-100=-5 111 100 111-100=11 994 1000 994-1000=-6 1042 1000

Vedic Mathematics Tricks - Multiply by 11 - Part One

Friends, this technique will teaches you how to multiply any number by eleven, easily and quickly. Here, I demonstrated some examples to use this technique. From these examples you will see the pattern used and how easy they are to do. Example 1. Multiply 45 by 11 Step 1. Split 45 apart, like so: 4__5 4__5 Step 2. Add these two digits together 4+5=9 4+5=9 Final Step. Place the answer, 9 in between 4__5 it gives 495. Which is the correct answer. 495 Was that so simple and quicker than traditional method. Let's try another example: Example 2. Multiply 68 by 11 Step 1. Again Split 68, like so, 6__8 6__8 Step 2. Adding these two we get, 6+8=14 6+8=14 Final Step. So, we have to put 14 in between 6__8 oh, Don't do this 6148 this is wrong. Do this : Place 4 from 14 in between 6__8 it will give 648 add 1 as carry to left that 6. Now we get, 748 1     648     748 Here are some

Vedic Mathematics Tricks - Multiply by 11 - Part Two

This is Part II of Multiply by 11, Click Here to read Part I of this post. As you learnt in Part I how to multiply a two digit number with 11. Now, you will learn how to multiply 11 with more than two digits. As usual we deal with simple examples to explain the concept. Here is the first example how to multiply 11 with three digits number. Example 1. Multiply 145 by 11 Put a Zero(0) on left side so it become 0145 0145 Write down "units" place number, in other words, extreme right digit. On the right side, Here is, ___5 For the "tens" place, add the 4 to the its "neighbor" (the 5) . Write the answer : 9 below the 4. For the "hundreds" place, add the 1 to the its "neighbor" (the 4). Write the answer : 5 below the 1 . For the "thousands" place, add the 1 to the its "neighbor" (the 0). Write the answer : 1 below the 0. So, what is this tec
